Why I Prefer Albania Over Chile

Albania is a fairly small but beautiful country in the Mediterranean region of Europe, close to Croatia. It is quite possibly the least visited southern European countries but that is changing as people start to take note of its wonderful sites. It has unbelievable, sandy beaches, pretty much untouched mountain regions, and happening, expanding cities.

Albania’s white sandy beaches are gorgeous. These beaches are usually white, sandy beaches although there are a dozen pebble beaches too. You could hang out in the warm dry sun on a rug or pay for a sun bed, the choice is up to you. Almost all of the beaches are pretty much untouched by foreign visitors and some are so out of the way that you can quite possibly be at the beach alone, even in during peak times.

There are many exquisite mountain places in Albania. These regions in the north are fantastic for skiing or hiking and you can see many waterfalls and pristine lakes in that part of the country. The mountains in that area are brilliant to visit but the other mountain regions are also great.

Albanian cities are extremely vibrant with a cafe culture resulting in huge numbers of trendy cafes to relax in. Albania cities such as Tropoja are worth spending time in to view the historic old city area and also to visit a couple of museums.

You are sure to find that Albanians are very hospitable and will be happy to introduce you to their country if you are there.
