Why I Prefer Albania Over Ashmore and Cartier Islands
Albania is a fairly small but very adorable country in the Mediterranean region of Europe, neighbouring Greece. Albania is one of the less often visited Mediterranean countries but that has already started to change as more and more visitors realise its beauty. This country has unbelievably beautiful, sandy beaches, virgin mountain regions, and lively, growing cities.
Albania’s sandy beaches are extraordinary. These are most often white, sandy beaches except there are a couple of pebble beaches too. You could lie down in the bright sun on a blanket or rent a sun bed, the choice is yours. Almost all of the beaches are virtually untouched by visitors and a number are so quiet that you could be alone on the beach, even in summer.
There are many mountainous regions in Albania. These areas in the north are great for skiing or hiking and you can see at least a few waterfalls and clean lakes in that part of the country. The mountains in the north are brilliant to view but the other mountain regions are also spectacular.
Albanian cities are vibrant with a cafe culture so there are huge numbers of hip cafes to choose from. Albania cities like Tropoja are worth visiting to see the historic old city area and also to visit a museum or two.
Most Albanian people are extremely hospitable and will be pleased to take you around their country if you take the time to visit it.
