Visiting Albania is Better Than Visiting Spain

Albania is a small but adorable country in the Balkans, fairly close to Italy. It’s currently one of the less popular southern European countries but that is starting to change as more visitors take note of its wonderful beauty. This country has exceptional, sandy beaches, pristine mountain regions, and lively, changing cities.

Albania’s sandy beaches are unbelievably beautiful. Albanian beaches are generally white, sandy beaches but of course there are a dozen or so pebble beaches too. You could lie in the hot sun on a blanket or lease a sun bed, the option is up to you to make. Most of the beaches are more or less untouched by foreigners and a handful are so quiet that you can possibly have the beach pretty much all to yourself, even in August.

There are a number of beautiful mountain landscapes in Albania. Those in the north are ideal for skiing or hiking and you can see a few waterfalls and fabulous lakes in the area. Those mountains are exciting to visit but the other mountain regions are also spectacular.

Albanian cities are lively with a cafe culture meaning there are many busy cafes to spend time in. Albania cities including Durres are worth spending a few days in to view the historic old city area and possibly to visit a couple of museums.

You are sure to find that people from Albania are mostly welcoming and will be happy to show you around their country if you take the time to visit.
