Tropoja
Tropoja is located 260kms north of Tirana, close to the border with Kosova. It is not far from the city of Gjakova and is also within easy reach of other cities in Kosova. The region is best visited with your own transport so you can stop off at the many vantage points in the mountains and overlooking lakes.

I have visited the counrty six times now since April 2004 and i must say it is a lovely counrty. My first reason for visiting the counrty was to meet my sisters husbands family (my brother-in-law). All six times that i have been to Albania i have stayed in Tropoje for more than two weeks at a time. I have also visited Kosovo whilst there, and yes its true it is not far away. Since 2004 i have been seeing an Albanian and have recently got married to him, who also is from Tropoje. This part of Albania is beutiful and i stongly encourage people to visit there. I have travelled to many counrties in and around Europe and have still not found a place like it.
